Left-behind women of migrant-men: Rethinking agency and autonomy of women in rural Bangladesh

This paper details the changes in agency and autonomy of left-behind women international migrant-men exploring continuity discourse systems traditional gender roles a village rural Bangladesh. It sheds light on pattern trans-border communication their mobility locality subsequent relations. Through ethnographic fieldwork, this examined how rearrange culturally constructed boundaries meanings gender.  study also explored whether these are temporal for migration period what happens when husbands return permanently. The followed post-structural intersectional feminist approaches suggested that men’s creates situation where some get advantages widening room manoeuvre, which may be sustained after spouse.     Key words: Agency, autonomy, mobility, migration, manoeuvre.
